Job Description Summary:

Zllius Inc.  is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer to join a growing team and work passionately staffing and consulting services in the Information Technology and Engineering space.  

A strong candidate must demonstrate the ability to create the leads with clients to get the projects and build strong ties with 100% result oriented. The ideal candidate would understand research methodologies commonly utilized and be able to design a research methodology with limited client input. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. 
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. 
  • Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects. 
  • Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. 
  • Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance. 
  • Coordinate installation of software system. 
  • Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. 
  • Determine system performance standards. 
  • Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation. 
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces and improve performance. 
  • Monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications. 
  • Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, or security needs to determine hardware configuration. 
  • Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status. 
  • Recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, or humidity in area of system installation. 
  • Specify power supply requirements and configuration. 
  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. 
  • Supervise and assign work to programmers, designers, technologists, technicians, or other engineering or scientific personnel. 
  • Assess database performance. 
  • Assign duties or work schedules to employees. 
  • Collaborate with others to determine design specifications or details. 
  • Collaborate with others to resolve information technology issues. 
  • Communicate project information to others. 
  • Coordinate software or hardware installation. 
  • Design software applications. 
  • Develop performance metrics or standards related to information technology. 
  • Develop testing routines or procedures. 
  • Manage information technology projects or system activities. 
  • Monitor computer system performance to ensure proper operation. 
  • Prepare data for analysis. 
  • Provide technical support for software maintenance or use. 

Experience & Knowledge:

  • This position requires clear communication internally and externally, strong organizational skills, resiliency, and a solution focused mindset! 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent technical major with minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Software Development Engineer required 
  • Strong aptitude in developing rapport and relationships with individuals at a variety of levels 
  • Soft skills required - strong drive, persistence, consistency, organization, time management, written and verbal communication 
  • Flexible mindset focused on delivering quality deliverables on tight deadlines. 
  • Excellent problem-solving capability. 
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment. 
  • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail. 
  • Strong knowledge and experience with access management software; Citrix cloud computing software 
  • Knowledge with Business intelligence system software; Cisco Systems Cisco Works; Element management software 
  • Strong knowledge and experience with AWS Cloud Formation; Apache Kafka; Apache Maven; Jenkins; Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services; Ansible; Git 
  • System and data disaster recovery software; Veritas NetBackup 
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services 
  • Desktop communications, publishing and Document management software 
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Internet protocol IP multimedia subsystem software  
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Network conferencing software such as Slido interaction software 
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Network monitoring software such as Nagios; Network intrusion prevention systems NIPS; Snort; Wireshark 
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Network security or virtual private network VPN management software such as Virtual private networking VPN software 

Education:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or Computer Applications or related field

Work Location & Physical Requirements:  

  • This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.
  • The physical demands of the position described herein are essential functions of the job and employees must be able to successfully perform these tasks for extended periods.
